HUNGARIAN DANCE ACADEMY:
BACH – ANTAL FODOR: VIOLIN CONCERTO IN E MAJOR

18'

The ballet was created by FODOR Antal for the company of the Hungarian State Opera House, the premiere being in 1974. Now the Hungarian Dance Academy restages the piece with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
The choreography of the ballet (excerpt from the book “Balettek könyve” by MOLNÁR F. Márta and VÁLYI Rózsi.
FODOR Antal created a symphonic concert ballet on J.-S. BACH’s Violin Concerto in E major. The „visualization” of music is being realized as the dance entirely follows the scores.
In this choreography FODOR Antal uses a dance language based on the internationally widespread Graham technique in a very clear and poetic way.

KECSKEMÉT CITY BALLET:
MOTIVE

17’

Choreographer: BARTA Dóra
Music: Maurice RAVEL
Light design: KATONKA Zoltán
Costume design: KOVÁCS Andrea, BARTA Dóra

Dancers:
Bettina JURÁK, Krisztina SZŐLLŐSI, Nikolett NAGY, Lotti VARGA, Milán FÖLDESI, Roland SZÓKA, Martin RAJ, Bence BOLLA

An important act, like a motive, can be the driving force, exciting intention of the initiation of a process. The choreography is a reflection on where we can concentrate on the unexpected moments of being torn out of the usual forms.
Where appropriate, the power of the individual may get lost in the world’s flood. But not all of the enthusiastic and articulated power gets lost of the circle, which was appointed by the spirit of the eternal infinity.
One of the greatest classics of the literature, Bolero of Ravel gives us the musical experience. Essential element of the Bolero is the secret of enhancement, which doesn’t leave any rest for a moment for the performer nor the recipient.
In the performance of the Kecskemét City Ballet music and dance together requires more and more space and finally it includes all of the participants like a whirl.

According to the choreographer's concept, the piece is based on Antigone, Sophocles' timeless drama. The story depicts the connection between siblings, which, in love, lasts until death, or, in the case of existing conflict, may actually lead there. What may overwrite justice between the two brothers - or, in effect, between two humans? What is truth? Who decides who right and who is wrong? Is it God? Or man? Heart? Or reason? In light of this, the dance is set in this day and age, in a power-hungry dictatorship, where the connection between siblings is powerless against a blind ideology.

A Nemzeti Kulturális Alap támogatásával,
Imre Zoltán Program keretein belül megvalósulandó táncprodukció.
A Nemzeti Táncszínház és a Győri Balett szervezésében.
